I believe that the people are talking about in this meme is the top marginal income tax rates.
Obviously, it would be good if there were no loopholes by which our top earners could avoid income tax, but what we really need is a wealth tax that applies to all net worth over a certain amount.
The combined net worth of all billionaires is $12.2 trillion. A tax of 10% would raise $1.22 trillion, more than sufficient to end hunger and decarbonize our energy and transportation sectors.
Physician Democrat Amy Acton’s run for governor in Ohio appears to be well-timed. The state’s economy is sputtering and, though the state normally votes bright red, there is considerable concern that the Republican party is run by a lunatic whose economic policies have hurt Ohioans badly.
When did the United States abandon intelligence and civility, and start acting like a nation of stupid assholes?
Should we be concerned for our personal safety now that violent, hateful ICE agents may be given immunity from prosecution for murder?
It’s hard to conceive of anything more unAmerican than what’s happening here.
