I get that this fellow is a conservative and has all manner of charming little platitudes to articulate his political point of view.
Look, sir. The majority of Americans simply want to live like the citizens of the happiest countries on Earth. These are the “social democracies” of Scandinavia, Europe, Iceland, Austria, New Zealand, Costa Rica, and many others.
Their people are productive, but they aren’t over-stressed, diseased, or scared of fascism. They take care of one another–and their environment. They are led by sane and compassionate people, and they’re not fed utter crap by their government.
One other thing they’re not: irresponsible.
I agree with what Ricky Gervais says here; I would only add that there are dozens of ways religion impinges on others.
In my view, the most common is that it impedes our implementing science in things like climate change mitigation. If you believe, as is explicit in the Book of Genesis, that “only God can destroy the Earth,” you have a good excuse to ignore the entirety of climate science.
99% of this totally incorrect.
But hey, who cares, right? There’s a huge market for disinformation, and I’m sure you were handsomely paid.

I’ve always wondered what this means. Christian Science? But if you reject science and hand your diseases over to Jesus, why would you need health coverage in the first place?
