Should Humanity Become Multiplanetary?

Let’s examine a few facts here.  The thin atmosphere of Mars contains almost no oxygen.  Its average temperature is -80F.  It contains no water, and it doesn’t support agriculture. Colonizing Mars would be virtually impossible, not to mention pointless.

By contrast, we can easily fix everything that is broken here on Earth.  We can use technology to halt climate change.  We can offer food and healthcare to everyone living here.  We may even be able to agree to put an end to war.

Now that’s worth doing.
