I was speaking with some friends earlier today about the decline in demand for plant-based meat, e.g., Impossible Foods and Beyond Meat. They suggested that perhaps these companies have insufficient PR, but I countered that the intensely negatively PR funded by the ultra-wealthy beef industry is more likely to blame.
When you read the words at left, ask yourself who wrote this, and more to the point, who “they” are. The implication, obviously, is that “they” are the woke communists who dare to offer an alternative to deforestation and the factory farming of cows.
The guy who sent me this writes Could not be any clearer than that.
We’ve all heard the adage, “If guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns.”
It has a nice ring to it, but it really doesn’t hold water in the real world, where counties with strict gun laws, e.g., Japan, England, and Australia have very low rates of violent crime.
Note: these countries don’t have an NRA, a fabulously wealthy lobbying organization that controls their lawmaking apparatus.
Moreover, outside the United States, it’s very hard to find a place where a potentially mentally unstable person can go into a store and walk out with a weapon of war, capable of killing 50+ people each minute.
Actually, it wouldn’t have required a PhD in chemistry to predict what would happen to a large pool of untreated fresh water during a hot summer in our nation’s capital.
