I’m sure most of the U.S. was energized by what Teddy Roosevelt said here 120 years ago, but it seems that this “ship has sailed.” Current-day American capitalists are completely uninterested in the quality of the average person’s life.
Yet is it possible the 2024 presidential election will represent a turning point in this regard? Indeed it is.
Isn’t there enough hatred in the world without proactively generating more?
Could this be wrongly attributed to Atkinson?
Here’s an idea:
Give all descendants of slaves free college, with stipends, like they do in northern Europe.
Within a generation, we’ll have millions of young, highly educated black people, contributing to the work force at much higher levels than they are today.
We all admit that the MAGA base is composed of the most ignorant of Americans, but one has to think that even these people are losing their patience with Trump and the onslaught of catastrophes he’s bringing to the United States.
