One thing we can observe about Aristotle’s writings from our modern standpoint is that we got a whole bunch of stuff wrong, and the quote at left is a good example.
In fact, this specific quote was parodied by someone in recent times (George Carlin?), who said “The idea of waging war for peace is like screwing for virginity.”
One of the more bizarre aspects of life in America today is our government’s obsession with inserting itself into meaningless parts of our lives.
Why does the Pentagon have a list of religions it recognizes?
Who could possibly give a s*** as to which ones are on that list?
I’m happy to report that I don’t know a single person who would conclude, beyond a reasonable doubt, that “86 45” is a suggestion that Trump should be assassinated.
According to the Brookings Institute, the actual percentage of fraudulent votes in 2024 was a minuscule .0000845%, and no election outcome was altered by ballot fraud.
It’s just pathetic what’s happened here in the United States.
