At left is a question typical of a Republican moron. Might someone say, “No, taxes don’t need to be spent on things that serve our interests?”
The question, of course, is what actually does serve our interests.
Believe it or not, there are people in countries on this planet who think that tax money serves their interest if it goes to creating a healthier, happier, better educated, more humane society.
These are the same countries that tax rich people heavily, where attaining a net worth of hundreds of billions of dollars is extremely difficult–probably impossible. But those nations don’t have homeless veterans living in the street and presidents who are rapists and convicted felons.
Until very recently, there was virtually no controversy about things like the meme here.
Our Constitution, which used to be understood and respected by all Americans, makes the eligibility requirements for the House and Senate quite clear. The U.S. had been content with that for almost 250 years.
Now, Trump and his semi-literate base have turned this on its head.

I had the pleasure of speaking with a guy from Sweden not too long ago about this topic, and I happened to mention Demark, to which he replied, “We hate the Danes.”
He immediately broke into a grin and added, “I’m kidding, of course. People from the happiest counties on Earth don’t hate anybody. But we do have a rivalry going on.”

I continue to wonder how it’s possible that people of honor like out top military commanders don’t simply refuse to comply with orders that are so clearly illegal and immoral.
