In today’s United States, the only solution we allow is making rich people richer. Things like climate change mitigation, affordable healthcare, dealing with hunger and poverty, and quality education are ignored, based on the false presumption that government can do nothing good.

China Has Been Peaceful
Obviously, it’s impossible to predict the future based on the past, and China is brandishing weapons. Moreover, it’s been trying to take over the world for the last 6000 years.
That said, the culture of China is built around patience, and the country appears to be conducting this crusade with commerce, rather than bombs.
Where the U.S. invests in blowing things (and people) to bits, China puts its resources on dominating global trade.

Paying more for gas is painful, but I’m not sure how that compares with waging a pointless and illegal war in which the bodies of men, women, and children are being blown to bits.

Anything that makes him richer and more powerful, which includes things that will earn him the support of hateful idiots.
