In the year 2009, the year 2GreenEnergy was launched, the world of renewable energy had high hopes for the technology shown at left. At the time, solar thermal had a huge advantage of competitive approached to clean power, in particular, the fact that the energy generated by the array was heat, and the storage of heat energy in huge vats of molten salt was extremely inexpensive, compared to the storage of electrical energy in batteries.
While the storage issue remains the case today, the cost of energy from solar PV and wind has sunk to the point that solar thermal is no longer competitive.
As shown here, we live in a society that glorifies the very worst traits of the human animal and seems to be on a rocket ride to its own destruction.
Ignorance has terrific value to the billionaire class. If you’re filthy rich, you really don’t want a nation full of people learning that pure market capitalism is, by its very nature, exploitative, or that the consumption of fossil fuels is destroying our planet’s capacity to support life.
The Trump administration and congressional Republicans are exceptionally good at focusing the MAGA base on problems that don’t exist.
What bathrooms should trans people use? Well, before we work ourselves into a frenzy, let’s ask ourselves if this is an issue that is really harming the good people of this nation.
Keep in mind that 60% of Americans live paycheck-to-paycheck and are struggling to afford groceries.
