The New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) today announced the launch of expedited renewable energy solicitations as part of the state’s plan to bolster its large-scale renewable industry.

The solicitations, initially announced by New York governor Kathy Hochul earlier this month, are open to all project developers. As part of these solicitations, NYSERDA included provisions from the latest rounds of renewable energy procurements such as inflation indexing and agricultural land preservation. This was done in order to maintain policy objectives introduced in prior solicitations.

“These expedited solicitations will continue to build upon our momentum toward achieving a zero-emissions electric grid,” says Doreen M. Harris, president and CEO of NYSERDA. “We welcome into this competitive process all developers who are committed and eager to participate in New York’s energy transition, and we look forward to working together to deliver significant economic, public health, and grid reliability benefits to New York State.”

NYSERDA is streamlining these expedited solicitations by selectively removing certain bid requirements that historically required substantial efforts to develop, but provided nominal value in bid evaluations.

Final proposals for both offshore wind and land-based projects are due in January. These expedited solicitations support progress toward achieving New York’s Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act goals to obtain 70% of the state’s electricity from renewable sources by 2030 and develop 9,000 MW of offshore wind by 2035.

Woke Celebrity Far Out Number Trump Supporters

Glenn Close is what Donald Trump would call a “woke celebrity.” Yet what he’s deliberately ignoring is that he has virtually zero support from the entertainment industry.

Sure, you can find an occasional Clint Eastwood or James Woods.  But for every one of them, you’ll find perhaps a dozen intelligent and kind people like Close who deeply resents Trump’s attempts to steal democracy from the American people and the rest of the civilized world.

I’m no expert on political demographics, but is strikes me that someone like, say Jodie Foster, who could read at age three and graduated from Yale magna cum laude, probably sees life differently from the MAGA base of carrot farmers, truck drivers, and appliance repairmen.

Will You Be Safer if Non-English-Speaking People Can’t Drive?

Most Americans who have the means to travel have rented a car in Paris and driven it all over France. I happen to be the first Avis renter to pick up a car at Heathrow and take it through the Chunnel on my way to Paris, on my way to Stuttgart in western Germany.

How much French do I know?  Close to zero.  I don’t even know the French word for “zero.’  Was I a menace to the French? Doubt it.

This strikes me as pure MAGA racism.  It’s an appeal to punish people with brown skin, or preferably, take them and their little children into detention and ultimately deport them. The more pain, the better.

Is Trump the “Greatest President Ever?”

Published

on

Today’s America admires the rich, and we have no problem if our leaders are sociopathic rapists.

The more damage they do to the common U.S. citizen, the more we love them.

All they really need to do in order to retain our adoration is to continue to punish people with brown skin and give tax breaks to billionaires.

Quality education, healthcare, protecting our environment, and affordability are all issues for woke communists and sissies.
