I just had a conversation with a building contractor who specializes in eco-friendly residential improvements–in a part of the world where such a specialty is a big deal: Santa Barbara, California.
This was a great opportunity to ask questions about certain technologies that seemed to have great promise, but that, for some reason, never took off. Among these is building-integrated photovoltaics, or BIPV. As shown in the photo above, it isn’t on the roof; it is the roof.
The fellow gave me two reason for the slow adoption (failure?) of BIPV:
1) It’s very brittle, which makes roof repairs very difficult without cracking other panels,, and
2) The carbon footprint associated with making BIPV is very high.
Interesting stuff.
Yes, part of this is stupidity. But a larger part is that people who still support Trump at this point are desperate to believe whatever comes out of his mouth, regardless of how nonsensical it may be.
I wish my mother were still here so I could see where she would stand. She was extremely well-educated, and a voracious reader, but somehow remained a Fox News viewer until the end. I just wonder if the last 15 months may have turned her around.
Those who stand in opposition to the president have dozens of different reasons for their feelings. One, as is on display here, is that he’s an ignoramus.
Not sure about this.
A magna cum laude graduate of Harvard Law School might struggle to identify a bear. Could be.
This is the intelligence level of the American electorate today.
