H. L. Mencken said: no one ever went broke underestimating the intelligence of the American public. And that was 100 years ago, so now this is true in spades.
Having said that, there is a limit, and we just may be approaching it, as we see at left.
People are starting to figure this out.

It’s always struck me that exporting our hate and stupidity to other planets is a terrible idea. Given all our wonderful resources, if we can’t figure out how to take care of ourselves, extinction is the only option.
