There are 2.86 million U.S. military personnel. How many are transgender? Although no one really knows, it’s a minute fraction, perhaps like the percentage of left-handed redheads over seven feet tall with Mensa-level IQs.
Does any rational person really believe that the presence of transgenders in our armed forces puts our national security at risk?
Obviously, banning transgenders from the military appeals to idiots. Perhaps that’s all that needs to be said here.
It’s hard to disagree with most of this.
That said, how long the damage will last is an open question. If Trump can be removed from office and then totally discredited with criminal prosecution, there is a reasonable chance that a) congressional Republicans will try to pretend none of this ever happened, b) a large percentage of his base will recant their loyalty, and c) virtually everyone around the globe will breathe a huge sigh of relief and let the world move on.
I suggest that it would end with essentially what we’re seeing right now. Instead of being used to spread harmony and scientific truth, it’s used to promote hate and divisiveness, while forwarding disinformation on important scientific matters on climate, vaccinations, and so forth.
Right before the closing credits roll, we learn that the most powerful country on Earth has elected a criminal sociopath, who’s destroying everything that its people had spent 250 years building up.
With each passing day, we learn of some new aspect to life on Earth that Trump has ruined.
We can only hope that the midterms enable Congress to remove this menace from the White House.
