What Neil deGrasse Tyson (supposedly) said at left isn’t true. The theory of evolution is about 170 years old. Science demonstrated that Earth is approximately 4.55 billion years old in 1956.
There are still people who believe that Noah put two of each species on his ark sometime in the last 6000 years, at time at which God created the Heavens and the Earth as asserted in the book of Genesis.
I once took my son and some friends camping in the High Sierras in Eastern California, and I was chatting with a park ranger about an exhibit that showed that there are trees on Earth far older than 6000 years. I asked her, “Don’t Christians occasionally object that God hadn’t yet created the universe?” “All the time,” she responded. “I change the subject immediately. I’ve gotten very good at this over the years.”
Most 2GreenEnergy readers don’t live in California, and many don’t live in the United States, so they will be excused for not knowing that the Golden State’s wine industry is falling into the crapper. Young people are drinking far less wine than they were a few years ago.
Exactly why this is remains something of a mystery. Are they smoking more pot? Are they drinking more alcoholic sodas? Are they concerned about their health and longevity?
My guess is that they are less turned on by nuance.
They’re not listening to Beethoven; they’re listening to hip-hop. Music doesn’t produce an effect on their spirit; it produces an effect on their genitilia.
They’re not studying Plato; they’re getting their MBAs and going to Wall Street.
They say, “I should have did (something),” and when I want to correct their grammar gently, they want to slap me across the face.
These are different times, and they are not better times.
Some people may be, but, to a person, the foreigners I’ve met are deeply saddened, and terrified of the consequences of the Trump regime.
Their feeling is simply that America re-elected a convicted felon, rapist, and traitor who attempted to overthrow the U.S. federal government. If we’re willing to do that, we’re capable of anything, regardless of how depraved.
I’ve never understood why those who compose total bullshit like this don’t go for the gusto. Why 95% and not 99% or 100%?
Trump’s actual approval rating among Republicans is somewhere between 75% and 80%, as can be easily verified by anyone on Earth with a cell phone or computer. That number continues to dwindle, as he faces more pressure regarding the war, gas prices, child rape, etc.
Obviously, the president’s supporters are suckers for his lies, but isn’t this a bit over the top?
