When I came across the meme here, I thought it was a joke. Does somebody seriously believe that there are “anti-ICE rioters” that they’re doing damage to our cities?
Chewing on this further, I suppose that the most gullible members of the Fox News crowd may buy this. My mom once told my brother and me that undocumented people in sanctuary cities could commit rape and murder, and the police weren’t allowed to arrest them. We told her that she would do well to look up the term “sanctuary city,” aka “safe city,” so named because these cities normally have less crime than their counterparts, since immigrants feel safe speaking to and cooperating with law enforcement personnel.
Police chiefs in large cities prefer this arrangement, as their duty is keeping people safe by reducing crime, not deporting harmless and law-abiding immigrants.
Keep in mind that “removing Trump from office” and “stop talking about Trump” are two different events.
It’s quite possible that a Democrat-controlled congress could remove him from power within the coming months. But think about the damage he’s done to our nation and the path to repair it. Think about the war, the trade deals, the economic policies, our relationships with our allies, the racism, our erstwhile position as leader in world democracy, and the degradation in public health, education, and environmental responsibility.
We’ll be talking about Trump as long as an organized human civilization is functioning on this planet.

Yes, Hegseth and RFK, Jr. will be gone, but I think what’s going to happen first is the decapitation of the snake itself, i.e., the removal of Trump from the presidency.
Based on the news on social media, this could happen via the 25th Amendment, based on Trump’s mental deterioration. In my view, that’s a shame. If he’s not criminally prosecuted, this nation will be deprived of letting the American people and the rest of the world know that rule of law still matters in the United States.
