Even our nation’s dimmest bulbs, the tens of millions of people who comprise Trump’s loyal base, are starting to learn something that those of even moderate intelligence find obvious: When you appoint despicable people to government office, they tend to behave in scandalous ways that embarrass the nation. 

Trump’s recent actions, e.g., attacking the Pope, depicting himself as Jesus, and starting a war that has sent gas prices skyrocketing are starting to grind on the MAGA crowd.

This bodes well for the recovery of the United States from the malaise into which it has fallen.  It appears that there is a point of rock bottom to our nation’s stupidity and depravity.
