I disagree with DiCaprio here.
Restricting who can hold public office on the basis of how scientific the person is in his thinking is an unsupportable idea. Hell, the second in line to the U.S. presidency has no more founding in science than a jellyfish.
If you want change here, you need an educated voter base that will not accept gross ignorance in the leaders it elects.
Very few people object to Donald Trump on the basis that he’s a capitalist. All 340 million of us live in a capitalist country, one that has done just fine for itself over the last 250 years.
On the other hand, the vast majority of Americans reject Trump as a lifelong criminal, now sucking the life out of the common citizen, and throwing away our country’s former glory so as to further enrich himself.

Relevance: As shown here, heavily funded (funded by whom?) climate deniers are inventing dozens (hundreds?) of ways to convince us that climate change is a hoax.
IMO, the most important principle at stake here is the freedom of speech as guaranteed under the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, a document that used to be held in very high regard.
