My wife believes that the United States is headed towards the Orwellian dystopia “1984,” based on the systematic distortion of truth we see all around us. If a U.S. president can convince his followers that Ukraine started the war with Russia by attacking first, I suppose she has a point.
Physician Democrat Amy Acton’s run for governor in Ohio appears to be well-timed. The state’s economy is sputtering and, though the state normally votes bright red, there is considerable concern that the Republican party is run by a lunatic whose economic policies have hurt Ohioans badly.
When did the United States abandon intelligence and civility, and start acting like a nation of stupid assholes?
Should we be concerned for our personal safety now that violent, hateful ICE agents may be given immunity from prosecution for murder?
It’s hard to conceive of anything more unAmerican than what’s happening here.
