On social media, there are thousands of comments on Trump’s statement here, at least 95% say: “It’s about time!” or “Trump is saving our democracy from the liberals!”
There’s a catch, however, though it’s not one that Trump supporters are likely to understand: This will require re-writing the U.S. Constitution, in particular, Article I, Section 4, Clause 1, referred to as the Elections Clause.
(It) contemplates that state legislatures will establish the times, places, and manner of holding elections for the House of Representatives and the Senate, subject to Congress making or altering such state regulations (except as to the place of choosing Senators). The Supreme Court has interpreted the Elections Clause expansively, enabling states to provide a complete code for congressional elections, not only as to times and places, but in relation to notices, registration, supervision of voting, protection of voters, prevention of fraud and corrupt practices, counting of votes, duties of inspectors and canvassers, and making and publication of election returns.
The prediction made here is nearly certain to come true.
The question is what happens at the point. E.g., how long does it take to rebuild trade deals and relationships with allies?
Keep in mind that regardless of the manner in which Trump loses power, there will always be “news” outlets like Fox and Newsmax, trying their best to convince the idiots that Trump was hounded and persecuted by the communists who hate America.
All I can say about the me here is that personally I refused, against considerable pressure from my family, to indoctrinate my children into something I myself could not accept.
Is it actually “psychological abuse” to indoctrinate children into monotheistic religion? Whether to take it that far is an open question.
My parents, both atheists, sent my brother and me to Sunday School, as they thought it wrong to cut us off from a modality of growing up in America in the early 1960s. I don’t blame them, but again, it’s not something I was willing to replicate with my own children.
In less than a month, we’re going to learn how many idiots are buying this socialism crap.
Sure, there are people who don’t know anything about the way people live in northern England, New Zealand, Costa Rica, etc. Most of these people couldn’t find these countries on this globe.
But how many can there possibly be?
Clearly, Republicans are desperate, but isn’t asking voters to believe that the Swedes have to rely on the government for their job, salary, and food a bit over-the-top?
