What the boob at left is saying is partially true, in that only some people in the rest of the world are laughing at the United States.
The vast majority of people I meet from other countries are crying, not literally, but they almost uniformly express their astonishment and profound sorrow that the former envy of the world could have been reduced to a banana republic — and in such a short period of time.

At left we see the moral bankruptcy that guides our civilization.
I recall many years ago, when Musk was becoming a “thing,” writing a post to the effect that, “What a terrible shame. We really didn’t need just one more super-rich asshole on this beleaguered planet.”
It’s easy to understand how Trump has great appeal to the hateful idiots and the amoral rich.
It’s much harder to see how it’s possible that a huge number of eligible voters are uninvolved in guiding the future of the United States, with many of them saying that “both sides are the same.”
