The Pope stands in opposition to pointless, illegal wars, cruel and inhumane treatment of the poor, and criminal insanity.
That strikes most of us as “matters of morality.”

I just met a guy who was headed for the beach to take a swim in the ocean, which I found impressive, given that the water in Santa Barbara is 59 degrees F.
“My ocean-swimming days are over,” I told him.
“Oh, it gets worse,” he relied. “Because of climate change, the waters south of here are too hot for the sharks, so they’re moving north.”
Holy crap.
Occasionally we see signs of integrity from politicians.
What a breath of fresh air.
Yes, but this would have hurt the billionaires, and that can never happen in our society.
