The Canada Infrastructure Bank (CIB), Nlaka’pamux Nation Tribal Council (NNTC) and BluEarth Renewables have achieved financial close on a $35 million loan towards quA-ymn Solar.
The project will be located on reclaimed land in the Highland Valley Copper Mine, southwest of Kamloops, British Columbia. It is a partnership between the member communities of the NNTC and BluEarth.
The partnership is slated to construct and operate a 15 MW solar facility which will connect into BC Hydro’s energy grid. The project is currently under construction.
Through the Indigenous Community Infrastructure Initiative (ICII), the CIB is investing in projects which provide a service or a direct benefit to Indigenous communities. This project represents the CIB’s first ICII clean power loan to reach financial close in British Columbia.
“This is an important project for the NNTC and our member communities and confirms for us that the disciplined and principled approach the NNTC has taken best protects Nlaka’pamux title and rights,” says Ehren Cory, CEO at Canada Infrastructure Bank.

Yes, most Americans have progressive values when it comes to things like universal healthcare, quality education, wealth inequality, and environmental responsibility.
But I honestly believe that the reason progressives are doing well in the polls and the primary elections that Trumpism is nothing but a sick joke, and this is becoming clear to more people every day.
There is a certain class of lowlife that is thrilled that the U.S. is being led by a corrupt criminal, but these numbers are dwindling.
Does America have to be constantly starting new wars against the imaginary enemies of straight white male Christian morons?

It’s the only path to peace.
Normally, “nihilism” means the belief that life is without objective meaning, purpose, or intrinsic value. Trump was elected by mean-spirited idiots, but they could hardly be called “nihilists.” For example, they believe very strongly in white supremacy, the dismantling of the federal government, saving people from the lethality of vaccinations, etc.
Now, there is a secondary meaning to the word, i.e., those who reject established social systems. In this sense, I suppose they are indeed nihilists, in that they reject lawfulness, honesty, human rights, truth, science, tolerance, and compassion.
