Salt River Project (SRP) and NextEra Energy Resources have put the 260 MW Sonoran Solar Energy Center, located south of Buckeye, Ariz., into operation.
The solar facility can additionally charge a 1 GWh BESS, which the company says is the largest in the state. The center is expected to help match the electricity consumed by Google’s forthcoming data center campus in Mesa, with any unused energy going to other SRP customers.
The joint company effort is also slated to support Google through the Storey Energy Center, an 88 MW solar and BESS in Coolidge, Ariz., and the still under development 161 MW wind facility, Babbitt Ranch Energy Center, in Coconino County.
“SRP and the Valley are fortunate to have sustainability focused organizations like Google located here who help accelerate the transition to carbon-free power resources,” says SRP’s Bobby Olsen. “We also value our partnerships with developers like NextEra Energy Resources who support SRP in developing renewable resources in a rapid timeframe as we prioritize delivering affordable, reliable and sustainable power to all SRP customers.”

Most 2GreenEnergy readers don’t live in California, and many don’t live in the United States, so they will be excused for not knowing that the Golden State’s wine industry is falling into the crapper. Young people are drinking far less wine than they were a few years ago.
Exactly why this is remains something of a mystery. Are they smoking more pot? Are they drinking more alcoholic sodas? Are they concerned about their health and longevity?
My guess is that they are less turned on by nuance.
They’re not listening to Beethoven; they’re listening to hip-hop. Music doesn’t produce an effect on their spirit; it produces an effect on their genitilia.
They’re not studying Plato; they’re getting their MBAs and going to Wall Street.
They say, “I should have did (something),” and when I want to correct their grammar gently, they want to slap me across the face.
These are different times, and they are not better times.
Some people may be, but, to a person, the foreigners I’ve met are deeply saddened, and terrified of the consequences of the Trump regime.
Their feeling is simply that America re-elected a convicted felon, rapist, and traitor who attempted to overthrow the U.S. federal government. If we’re willing to do that, we’re capable of anything, regardless of how depraved.
I’ve never understood why those who compose total bullshit like this don’t go for the gusto. Why 95% and not 99% or 100%?
Trump’s actual approval rating among Republicans is somewhere between 75% and 80%, as can be easily verified by anyone on Earth with a cell phone or computer. That number continues to dwindle, as he faces more pressure regarding the war, gas prices, child rape, etc.
Obviously, the president’s supporters are suckers for his lies, but isn’t this a bit over the top?
