There are several reasons that climate change is proving to be such a difficult challenge for our civilization to overcome.

One of them is nationalism/tribalism. There are 200+ sovereign nations of this small blue planet, whose citizens feel very little affinity for those in other countries. This means limited cooperation among nations that desperately need to come together to develop and share relevant technology.

Another is the influence of Big Oil with its rapacious greed and corruptive influence over our lawmaking processes. All this is made worse by the fact that they have allies among some of the most ignorant people on Earth. We Americans live with tens of millions of hateful morons, like the truck owner here.

China owns less than 1% of the 3.6% of U.S. farmland that is owned by foreign governments and investors.

Some would say:

Stealing their miniscule position is imperative.

Forget about World War 3, the Epstein files, and Trump’s criminal psychosis.

Let’s get on this, before their holdings grow to 0.04%.

I know there are people hoping to see human civilization destroy itself, to welcome in the apocalypse as forecast in the book of Revelation. In fact, one of my co-coaches in the days our kids played soccer had this precise belief.

When I explained that my life’s work was to halt the destruction of human society, he chastised me: “Oh no Craig! The sooner life on Earth comes to an end, the sooner Christ will return to summon us all to Heaven!”

I wasn’t impressed with his thinking.
