What is World Environment Day?
World Environment Day, celebrated annually on 5th June, was established by the United Nations General Assembly in 1972. This global event has grown to be one of the largest platforms for environmental outreach, engaging millions of people through various activities across the world. The day aims to raise awareness about pressing environmental issues and encourages individuals, communities, and governments to take action in protecting and preserving the natural world. From educational campaigns and community clean-ups to tree-planting initiatives and policy advocacy, World Environment Day inspires and mobilises people from all walks of life to contribute towards a healthier and more sustainable planet.
