EBMUD Completes its Largest Solar Array
The East Bay Municipal Utility District (EBMUD) has completed construction and installation of its largest solar array, the 4.6 MW Orinda Photovoltaic Solar Energy Project, located in Orinda, Calif.
The company developed the project with TotalEnergies.
In addition to electricity production, the project will also supply EBMUD with power at a fixed rate over its 25-year contract term.
“The Orinda PV project represents a leap in EBMUD’s clean energy production and supports our mission to deliver safe and affordable drinking water while protecting the environment,” says Clifford Chan, EBMUD’s general manager.
“We believe investing in a sustainable future is the right thing to do for our customers and our planet, not only for today but for future generations.”
